ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMME

Having English language skills is vitally important in Cambodia for people to obtain well paid work and to use computers.

We therefore run a free programme at an increasing number of centres throughout Siem Reap. As land is expensive in the center of town we rent small areas and build two steel and bamboo classrooms  which are used to teach up to 150 children.

Initially we used just foreign volunteers to do the teaching but recently we have started to employ Cambodians to do the teaching and support them with foreign volunteers. All our volunteers make financial donations either personally or from fund raising before they leave home and this income helps us fund the programme.

We currently have 3 centres teaching 350 children and a 4th under construction they are:

Osborne House Established in 2008 this school is part of Osborne House orphanage.
The Sinclair Centre Established in 2009 The sinclair centre is in town near the childrens hospital and                                                 attended by our children from Lana House orphanage.
Treak village Established in 2009  Treak village school is in a sleepy rural village located just 5km from the centre of Siem Reap town.
The Total School  under construction Funded by the TOTAL Petroleum Company
